Each of our Dog kennels has an inside sleeping area and outside covered runs. We also have outside rest kennels for dogs that prefer to be outside . Larger kennels are available for up to three dogs from the same household to be able to board together.
We also have large grassed paddocks exercise areas which are fully secure and safe, where the dogs are constantly rotated during the day, allowing the staff to give them some individual attention and playtime.
We never allow strange dogs to socialise in these areas and each dog has his own space, unless dogs from the same family are being boarded and where we have permission for them to exercise together.
The Kennels are heated during the winter time and air conditioned during the warmer months to provide a comfortable environment all year round. All of our pet guests have their own warm, soft bedding and baskets provided.
Our kennels are all of a high standard, and with the level of care and attention we provide we hope that Hillcrest will soon become your dog’s favourite home away from home! All breeds and sizes of dog are welcome. A full range of dog foods is available and we are more than happy to cater for special diets and any medical requirements.
We invite all potential customers to come and have a look around the kennels, and see for yourself the quality of our facilities and to meet the staff who will be caring for your pets. They will happily answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to call at any time during opening hours as we have an open door policy.
Before boarding it is a legal requirement that all dogs must be fully vaccinated against Kennel Cough as well as the standard diseases prevented by annual booster vaccinations so you may be assured of a healthy, disease-free environment.
In accordance with the Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963 when your dog is checking in, you must present a current vaccination certificate. We ask that all boarders are fully vaccinated, wormed and regularly treated for fleas.
Standard Dog Vaccination
- A Primary course of two injections given over two to three weeks.
- Dogs can board SEVEN days after the end of a primary course.
The primary course is followed by a single annual ‘booster’ vaccination. Dogs can board the same day as a ‘booster’ has been administered
Kennel Cough Vaccination
- A single dose of vaccine that lasts 12 months. (Usually a Nasal Spray)
- Dogs can board with us SEVEN days after the vaccine is given although we would prefer all dogs to have had the Kennel Cough vaccine FOURTEEN days prior to us receiving them
